Write the Error Message First

A bad day is easier when the product speaks like a helpful human.

Error states are where a product reveals its manners. Vague language turns a small setback into a guessing game.

Start with what happened, what the person can do next, and whether anything was lost. That is usually all anybody needs.

Good error messages are tiny support tickets you never have to receive.
